Training Information

  • Number of participants: 12-16 people
  • Coaches: 3-4 coaches (2 Team Coaches, 1-2 additional coaches)
  • Duty Coach: 1 duty coach set for the day (Coach on duty)
  • Duration: 120 minutes

Training Goals

  • Understand the basic rules and etiquette of table tennis
  • Master basic table tennis techniques and footwork
  • Improve reaction speed and coordination
  • Foster team spirit and sportsmanship
  • Learn the rules of table tennis matches: singles and doubles
  • Learn to cooperate with teammates during group training
  • Ignite a passion for table tennis, emphasizing fun and enjoyment

Training Plan

Part 1: Warm-up (5 minutes)

  • Line up, coach talks, introduce key points of the training content
  1. Fun Run
  • Jog around the court, play cheerful music, create a happy atmosphere
  • Choose a captain and vice-captain to lead the run
  • Running forms: jogging, side steps, high knees, three laps each
  1. Stretching Exercises
  • Wrists, ankles, legs, shoulders, waist, 20 times each

Part 2: Aerobic Table Tennis (20 minutes)

  1. Basic Grip Training
  • Coach demonstrates the grip, students try it (assistant coach checks grip)
  1. Basic Movement Practice
  • Coach supervises 4 students, corrects techniques
  • Movement 1: Side steps
    • Explanation and practice: 5 minutes
  • Movement 2: Step 3 times + backhand push
    • Explanation and practice: 5 minutes
  1. Combination Practice
  • Combine Aerobic Table Tennis movements 1 and 2, practice with music, emphasize overall coherence and rhythm: 10 minutes

Part 3: Multi-ball Training (30 minutes)

  1. Introduction
  • Coach briefly explains the multi-ball training process and plan
  1. Rotation Allocation
  • 2 students train, 2 students pick up balls, roles rotate
  • Ball picking task: for example, pick up 100 balls in 2 minutes
  1. Teacher-Student Rotation
  • Each group of athletes trains for two rounds, different coaches in charge of different tables
  • Each round lasts 2 minutes

Part 4: Break (10 minutes)

Part 5: Fun Competition (15 minutes)

  • Small team competition: for example, King’s Table

Part 6: Fun Physical Training (20 minutes)

  • Games: for example, relay races, carrying table tennis balls
  • Coaches discuss among themselves, emphasize fun and team spirit

Part 7: Relaxation and Stretching (10 minutes)

  • Relaxation: play music, relax legs and shoulders

Part 8: Best Performance Award

  • Summary: Duty coach gives a brief training summary, encourages and acknowledges the athletes’ performance
