Singing and Dancing Workshops
- Start and End Date:
- The Singing and Dancing Workshops start at 20.May.2024 and concluded on September 7, 2024, after a total of 16 sessions (16 hours).
- Beneficiaries:
- The workshops benefited approximately 41 participants in total, including seniors aged 55+ and children under 15.
- How Seniors Benefited from the Workshops:
- Physical Benefits:
- Dancing workshops improved mobility, flexibility, and balance, reducing the risk of falls and enhancing overall physical health.
- Mental and Emotional Well-Being:
- Singing sessions alleviated stress and anxiety, uplifted moods, and provided a creative outlet for self-expression.
- Engaging in group activities fostered a sense of purpose, joy, and belonging.
- Social Connection:
- Seniors built meaningful relationships with peers and connected with younger participants, bridging generational gaps.
- Cultural themes within the workshops created shared experiences and deepened the appreciation of diversity.
- Skill Development:
- Seniors learned new singing and dancing techniques, which boosted their confidence and encouraged active participation.
- Participants who excelled were invited to perform in the JC Canada Cultural Performance, gaining recognition and further building self-esteem.
